Your observations make so much sense given that I wondered in the 1970s why movies became so violent such a rapid-fire pace everything coming at you on the screen. Then into the 80s with MTV the images were constantly flashing at you and most of the time they had very little to do with the music. Your explanation makes so much sense overload is intended.

“…the overloaded subject cannot process it because the overload was the point. There is no bandwidth left for the update. The subject is pulled to the next fire before registering that the last one has been extinguished.
